In this Experts clip, Dan Micciche highlights the importance of parents understanding the implications of day release from school. Day release is a period each week when secondary school-age children have an opportunity to leave school once per week for a half or full day to receive extra training and participate in school work at their academy.
He encourages parents to assess whether the programme offers valuable experiences and to inquire about the success of past players. Micciche notes that full-time commitments may not suit every player and stresses the need to balance education and football, as missing lessons can impact a child’s connection with peers and family.
