Hi there,
I certainly would be too hasty and rush into a decision. Maybe see if you can get some 121 time with coaches without your child present , then another with your child present ? Communication is so important with challenges like this.

Hi Simon,
I think giving those boundaries really can help a child focus , and if it is working then so be it ! Grassroots / Academy Football is so important to kids isn’t it ? There are around 5 Million children that play Grassroots every week. Its a huge part of their childhood.

When is the right age to start?
Hi Kate,
One of my children was with a Premier League Academy club at the age of 5 and it was the worst thing ever. I thought it was a great opportunity , and was so excited that he got picked – he used to cry all the way there, and all the way home! He just wanted to enjoy playing football with his friends, not be trained and drilled so young.…

Hi Eva,
Personally I think Children develop on the football pitch at different times throughout their younger years so there is always the time to naturally catch up . In a years time all might be different. The most important thing is your child is enjoying their football, if it is an elite grassroots environment and your child is struggling…
